It has the 8 inch barrel, 6 shot, break top loading and unloading system. Speaking of that, it breaks open flawlessly, star ejector rises, then returns to the cylinder. Revolver closes tightly. MECHANICS: this American open, ejects, closes correctly, locks tight. Cylinder advances each time the hammer is cocked, and the cylinder locks tight and indexes to each camber. It releases to fire smoothly. Simply put, THERE ARE NO MECHANICAL ISSUES ! There is about 30% original factory blue present, the balance a blending blueish gray patina. very attractive revolver. The Walnut grips are free from any damage with a smooth surface and patina. ALL Factory applied markings are clear and present: barrel address, Serial Number ( correct location) All screw heads are clean and not buggered. ALL parts are factory original to this American. This revolver in 1874 was a perfect match combination to a Henry or Winchester 66 Rifle. Still VERY popular in the Southwest and Mexican Border area. This American has a VERY UNIQUE DEALER MARKING !!
